Bakersfield area AC owners

If anyone in the Bakersfield/Tehachapi/Lake Isabella area has a 8 or 10 foot front dinette C/O Alaskan that my wife and I can look at I would appreciate it. I'm not asking you to sell it, I just want my wife to see the inside of one and understand the space and layout.
IF you are willing to show it to us I would really appreciate it.

Bill....If you're serious about finding an Alaskan.....one of the things you'll need is a good set of jacks....

check the gear exchange...a set of 2000# THD Reico Titans is in Visalia right now...they don't come up that often and at that price they are about 1/2 price...they look to be in excellent shape....I'd be all over these and drive down to get them from Santa Rosa..but I just bought a set and just finished mounting them.....I searched for a very long time to find them

I saw those jacks. It is tempting but I'm gonna have to wait on any $ decisions until after I've gotten the camper. Things are tight now and I don't want to short circuit my ability to grab a camper.
I've found a couple Alaskans but very far away. Hoping for something closer.
Another issue is the width of my truck. It's a dually and wider than other dually's. The standard Reico/Titan extensions fall a little short. (I have a Palomino pop-up now) had to fabricate extensions that gained me another couple inches.

P.S. Weighed my truck yesterday, 1996 Dodge W3500. 7020 Lbs. full of fuel with me sitting in it. Without the camper.

I am going from memory, but my 1991 Dodge W250 4X4 diesel, empty with me and fuel was around 5600lbs. With my Phoenix custom camper, me, fuel, skis and other winter gear weighs 8800lbs. The GVWR is 8500lbs but the individual axle and tires do not exceed their ratings. With the heavy diesel engine and under bed storage there is more weight on the front axle than rear axle.
An Alaska camper is probably heavier than my 3200lb wet weight 8.5 foot Phoenix camper.

Cab over Alaskans start at 1700 pounds and top out at no more than just short of 2000#....nearly 1/2 of your phoenix

standard truck for an alaskan..8' or 10' models is a 3/4 ton...and they do well with the weight...a one ton is a little over kill but leaves alot of room for a significant amount of additional gear, family of four or more and lots of food...big steaks

My gross is 8800 and I'm near that...7.3 diesel...add on a tongue weight of 300# for the boat...and it's right there...rides nicely...and mines a 10' NCO...wet I'm near 1650#...just about exactly 1/2 of the phoenix

My NCO has been on several 3/4 ton's...starting with a 65 GMC then a 82 ford then a 85 ford 6.9 diesel and now my 2003 F250....all in the family

1529 lbs with a 20 gal water tank filled.
Includes ice box with no ice in it.
Standard three-burner without oven
Does not include toilet.
Does not include propane tank
