Been reading on another RV forum about batteries exploding and causing fires. Anyone here had this happen? Seems to be more common with liquid acid type rather than the AGM’s Gel type. But the AGM’s can have issues also. Venting of battery gas is a issue when there is a spark. Something to be aware of anyway.
Be safe out there.

Is it possible, yes. Is it probable, no. How many millions of batteries are around this world in all kinds of vehicles and somehow they don't seem to be exploding at an alarming rate. Yes, they do out gas (including AGMs) and if even remotely ventilated correctly, probably won't build up enough hydrogen to cause a problem. Problems are much more likely with bad wiring practices (fused incorrectly) or not secured and allowed to bounce around and short the terminals out.
