Bed Ladder Suggestions Wanted

There are short lightweight ladders made for camper vans which should be the right height etc.

We had one in a Dodge high top van which had much the same sliding overhead bed arrangement.

This one looks good from gowesty. I don't have one but haven't found another one this small.

It is a small telescoping ladder and is
Fully Extended: 6.5' x 14.5" x 2.25"
Collapsed: 27" x 14.5" x 2.25"

I was going to start this same thread a few days ago. Sub'd and hoping for input.

I'm racking my brain trying to figure out how to fab a permanent fold out step near the water tank.

Not sure how high from floor to your bed....but finding a WOODEN ladder and cutting it off at the right height and adding some Satin finish Varathane to it and maybe some rubber matting cut for each step and glued with contact cement or wrapping each step (glued down/stapled) with an industrial style carpet would work?

I actually have a wooden one that came with my 2004 Hawk that I have no use for. Its been sitting outside for awhile, but I think its still in good shape. Ill take some pictures tonight and post them

Here are a couple pictures of mine. Came with when I bought the camper used.

LOA on mine is 53" so as a guess the original owner purchased a 60" and cut some off the bottom.

Finally got the bunk ladder installed in our 2009 Hawk, a Stromberg-Carlson LA-460 60" Bunk Ladder from Amazon, about $50. The bunk slide out on our Hawk is only 48" from the floor so I cut off the ladder just above the bottom step, leaving the top 48" for our ladder.

There are two ways to attach the ladder to the face of the bunk, hook over the lip of the bunk front or hook to brackets to mount on the front of the bunk. I chose the brackets; they make for a sturdier connection and allow the ladder to be installed at the proper 11 degree angle.
