I don't know if anyone posted about him yet, but I just found out that a friend and campering partner and WtW friend, Bob Clark, died suddenly last week.

Somewhere around 2015 or early 2016?, we met here on WtW and became friends.
He was in Spokane, Wa, I was in Prescott, Arizona

In October 2016, we organized a gathering on this forum to spend a few days in Valley of the Gods, Utah. One of my favorite places in the U.S.
A small group of us from all over the U.S. met there and hiked and camped and shared stories for four or five days, maybe more, I don't remember. Bob and I left together and went on to the Canyon de Chelly National Monument in Chinle, AZ. and then we continued on our separate journeys.

While I was on the road in 2017, we met up in Kanab, Utah. Him from Spokane, Wa. me from my most recent stay in Zion NP. We stayed the night in Kanab then drove up to the isolated, high-clearance only, 4x4, Tuweep campground right on the edge of the Grand Canyon - views from Toroweep point.
We spent a few days there, hiking, and just hanging out.
We called each other about once a month or so. Last time we talked was June 6th. We caught up on each other's lives and he was happy, living with his dear friend Kelly and a slew of doggies. I'd planned on calling him this weekend.
Dammit.

"Cayuse'...

Bob and I met via emails in 2016 when he gave me great directions and locations for our upcoming Utah/Hole In The Rock/ Escalante/Kanab adventure just after we got our Hawk..

He was a very knowledgeable and giving persons....offered us GPS locations and tons of useful advice.

Sad indeed to hear of his passing..he lived only 4 hours North of us but we never seemed to connect person-to-person..guess there is a message there.. Hoyden [and her great pups] we got to know at CG in Cathedral Valley while sharing stories, a beer and fantastic views...

So don't pass up the opportunity to go face to face with someone, you may never again have the chance.

We are so sorry to hear this news, and our condolences on the lost of your friend. For those of us who did not get the chance to meet Bob personally, could you please let us know the username he went by here? Our best to you, Lady Bug, and Bob's family.

I hate it when we lose one of the members! Bob was always quick to help others, personable and engaged. I’m sorry more of us didn’t get the chance to wander with him.

Lady Bug, thank you for letting us know. Be well, stay well.

Very sorry to hear about Cayuse even though I never had the pleasure of meeting him. Thanks for keeping us informed.

RIP Bob

Sorry to hear this. Cayuse gave us good tips for our trip through Utah and the North Rim a few years ago and was always helpful to others. RIP.

Ýep, that's where i met Cayuse, too. He seemed like a cool guy. R.I.P.

Sad news and so young.... he too helped me on trip planning. Condolences to family and close ones.

It saddens me to hear this, we met at Expo West 2019. I was the second vehicle in line and he was three behind me. When he came up to greet me we hit it off immediately and swapped FWC stories, locations and thoroughly enjoyed our encounter.

RIP
