camping near Sierra Valley

I'm headed up to this neck of the woods in mid-August. I noted that LIghthawk mentioned dispersed camping in his post in May and wondered what might be available. Most of the area still looks as though it's privately owned?

Any forest service sites or places of that ilk in the area?

Suggestions gratefully received.

Have only driven through that area.But we have camper and driven the Gold Lake rd. north from hwy 49 at Bassets
through to hwy 89.
There are some semi primitive sites at Goose Lk and some other small lakes just inside Plumas county.
I know it's not Sierra Valley area but close enough to check out.
There are also some primitive sites at the back (southern) end of Gold lake.

Lots of camping if you come in on 89 before Sierraville.
