The weather forecast was calling for heat. No need to stay home - although it doesn't get that hot here anyhow - so we set off on a quick adventure to the cooler high country. Our story and photos is up on our blog -

Eastern Sierra Nevada - July 2019

Get on your hiking boots and remember to drink lots of water. :)

Cool is the weather and cool is the TR ! Enjoyed that guys (as I did the get-to-gether with the gang the other week-thanks for that too!!

Thanks Smoke! How's Timber doing? Are you getting him out on walks everyday? It will keep you young too. Has Timber been practicing his driving so he can help you out? My little buddy, Barking Spider just got his new driver's license for turning 70. If he can get one, Timber can get a license to drive. :)

She is back to practicing in the driveway again-the drive from Truckee thru Tahoe, then down 50 sort of scared her. Any way that short cut over to 88 sure worked well. Ended up going up 88, to 89 and 4-been a long time since I've been there, not much traffic-until I hit 395, that is. boy things sure have changes along 395 in the last 30 or so years. I probably should have headed over where you guys did your TR, but headed out toward that new Nevada State Walker Rec Area looking for a place to camp along the way-people everywhere there too! Camped at one of the CGs there, hey $15.00/nite and hot showers and the river to walk along, this place could be a nice stop during the winter or when the weather is real bad. Think I'll head back into that country along the Walker later on when the crowds die down. Oh Timber wants to know if you guys will walk her up to that lake in your TR someday.

Hey Smoke, please pass on to Timber our apologies about the gender confusion. How could we forget she was a nice fine girl. Someday, yup, we'll walk Timber up to the lake. We're glad you got out to the East Walker and had some fun. :)

We like escaping to the lakes when it gets hot here too! Pretty country you get to explore. Thanks for the report. :)

Beautiful country up there! It’s a shame the knuckleheads with the out of control dog were there, too. Thanks for letting us tag along.

Beautiful country, great report...thanks! Don’t get me started about dogs. I live in SoCal where they’re everywhere, including restaurants, supermarkets, Home Depot, etc. ‍♂️

Thanks Mr. Sage!

It was a large family group without an ounce of basic outdoor knowledge. The world is theirs and they will claim it, by god. Rattlesnake, skunk, coyote, eagle, or someone who will defend themself when charged would have been such a shocking surprise to these pilgrims.

Thanks for the kind comment!

I won't if you won't!
