Hi

On 9th of Sept. we will pickup our new Bobcat from ATC

We are still looking for truck for our family (2 adults and our 2 years old daughter)

We plan to cross Mexico, Central America South America the may by to Africa and back to Europe.

The problem we still can't find the truck of our dreams which is:

NISSAN FRONTIER 2002-2004 4x4 long bed Crew Cab low miles

Questions:

1. Do you know anyone who can sell this kind of truck?

2. Any idea of other small truck which will fit our family?
(we have been travelling on Tacoma Crew Cab long bed 4x4 and North Star Pop-up camper last year for 6 months. Crew Cab Tacomas with long bed started form 2006 they are to expensive for us. We do not plan to go with expensive car there)

Our budget 10000$

We are now in Big Bear Lake CA checking Craigslist 4 times a day :)
We have a rented car so it is not a problem for us to move.

Any help will be very appreciated.

Bartek, Marta and little Sophie

Try the search in called "search tempest"
you can type in exactly what you are looking for and a distance range from you current location. It searches, craigslist, ebay , and amazon.
It has really worked well for me.. Good luck in your Journey

Thank you ski3pin.

I love this one:
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/ctd/5732674345.html
It is exactly what we are looking for. All we need, manual trans and acceptable colour for my wife ;)

But 12000$ is beyond our budget.

I was not checking before cargurus. I will add this site to my daily search.

It will be very helpful If someone have more ideas where I can look for the car excluding craigslist, search tempest, autotrader which i check everyday.

Thanks again,
Bart

Bart, this brings back memories because we bought our truck from a used auto sales lot in Santa Cruz back in 2009. $12,000 is the asking price. A lot of haggling and bargaining can take place in auto sales.

Best of luck with your search and I hope another member may post something that helps you get on your way.

You have an ambitious trip planned! Best wishes for safe travels and a grand adventure!

Bart, don't be afraid to negotiate. Make an offer if you think the truck is worth it. Start writing a check, then offer to tear it up if the dealer is not being reasonable. The worst that can happen is they say no.
