FWC advice -- preorder option selection

Glad you got what you wanted no matter which company provided it.
That is what is most important in the long run.

FWIW, my experience with FWC was completely different as I researched the product thoroughly and knew going in exactly what I wanted....thus...I skipped over the salesman's *massage* and headed directly for those folks truly in charge.

Thankfully...I didn't need an air conditioner!!

Congrats on the purchase. See ya on the road...

All,

Unfortunately FWC lost my business: the sales guy the hooked me up with--Rich--was neither knowledgeable nor responsive enough. When the quote based on written specs came back with the wrong model(!), missing options, and my name misspelled I decided to call ATC and see what they could do for me.

That's not good for FWC. A time back if it is the same Rich, could not give the right information for details when I talked to him.

The good news for FWC is Stan...He knows the camper pretty good and if not he will get you the answer. I think highly of Stan.

Sorry you got passed on to a person that should know the camper. Maybe some training is needed for this person to better represent the company!

if I'd started with Stan, I think we'd have the Hawk. That's probably what I should have done...

All things considered, I think Rich would have done a fine job if I knew more about the product or I wanted a basic unit or I'd been able to walk into the office to do the paperwork.

FYI, what I ordered:
  • Panther
  • Refer 1.9 (we may add the Engel freezer later)
  • furnace
  • Power Roof vent (x2)
  • Front Sliding Window (which I may still delete)
  • Rear Passenger Side Window
  • Electric Water Pump
  • Mechanical jacks
  • Awning w/ light
  • Rear Floods
  • Porta-Pottie
  • Screen Door
  • Drill Adapter for Jacks
  • Arctic Pack Insulation
  • Rear Wall Steps
  • Dead Bolt
  • Aux Battery System
  • Extended Slideout Bed (to 80")
  • 110v System
  • 120" Yakima Tracks
  • Prewire Solar (front and rear)
  • Clear Screen Slider
  • A/C Option (TBD, probably beef rear window/frame for A/C)
I decided to skip the solar for now: most of my near term trips are max 2 consecutive overnights in one spot. Ben thinks I'll be fine on 1 battery. If not, I think a second battery is more $$$ efficient than solar.

ScottBailey:

that is sweet. i would order the same, but on a Hawk, if I were so inclined to get a new FWC. Man, would that be nice.

Good luck and you should have it for some nice fall camping.
