FWC Eagle on short bed tacoma

Hello everyone, I am trying to purchase my first camper and am trying to determine if a FWC camper will fit in my short bed (5ft) toyota tacoma (2011 4x4 V6 off road package). The floor length is 80 so it will stick out but it is only 800 lbs dry so I believe I will be fine weightwise. Anyone have experience with this model?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Hey Camper Dave, I believe that FWC has a new model called the "Swift" that's specifically made to fit the short bed import trucks. They discontinued the "Finch" which also fit on short bed import trucks. You probably won't find a used Swift, but if you're patient, a used Finch will surely pop up.

It can be done, but we usually don't recommend it.

Puts too much weight behind the rear axle.

You would need to use Torklift external tie downs as well.
