I think as long as you're conservative with the amount of air pressure you run through it with the cut off valve you should be ok.
 
RV systems designed to RVIA standards are certified to 60 psi and are normally tested at much higher pressure than that at the factory. If you want a shut off just used one for hoses from the garden department at Home Depot or Lowes. A number of truck camper manufacturers are not RVIA members, but I would hope they design to the same standard.
