Here's some pics of a recent mod I made to my '07 Grandby. The three lids over the storage areas under the couch would not stay open unless I would hold them. So I added some toy box lid supports I found at http://www.rockler.com .
Since the lids on my '07 Grandby are in three sections, they are not very heavy so I used the lightest duty model of these supports, 35-40 inch lbs, back mount, model. They cost about $5/ea. They really work great.

This must be something new. My 04 Grandby doesnt have lids like that. The seat cushion is the lid.

Buzzman how do you come up with all this good stuff. great idea

DLN,
One thing I forgot to mention was that the screws supplied with each hinge are made for 3/4" thick wood. I used some 1/2" long screws. For the ones that screw into the lids I ground off about 1/32" of the tip of the screws so there was no chance it would poke through the other side of the lid.

Thanks buzz, I did catch the 3/4" application for those supports, no problem changing out the screws when it comes around. Also that is a great cabinet hardware site, I've spent a lot of time searching hinges to match existing doors etc. and I'll sure go back there the next time it comes up.

Thanks for the great info! This is just what I've needed and I placed my order today :thumb:
