Hallmark Guanella Question?

Hello Hallmark people,

As the new Owner of a custom ordered Guanella (used) I has a few questions.

I only have a 7 prong plug outside of the camper, does this mean I can not use shore power if I went to a campsite with full hookups? Can I install shore power option?

My pop up is power only, my fear is that if my batteries die when I'm camping I wont be able to put the top down. DO you guys/girls have any recommendation to help ensure this doesn't happen or a back up system I can install?

Other than that this camper is awesome, thank you in advance for the help.

Welcome to the Hallmark family!
Are you sure that you don't have a shore power connection? It is standard as far as I know. The 20 amp plug is located on the underside of the overhang on the drivers side about half way down.

I can take a picture of mine if that helps..

Agree that is where my plug is on my Hallmark. It does have a cover. I am surprised there isn't a hand crank option for top lifting??

Thanks everyone,

Found the plug for shore power! Contacted Hallmark (crazy nice people) and they said I could use a power drill on the motor if my batteries die. I'm still worried that would damage the motor but I will be taking a drill with me anyways. I'll post a photo of the beauty soon.

Forgot to ask but do you think the batteries will charge when hooked into shore power? or should I bring my trickle charger?

Yes, the house batteries will charge when plugged into shore power. I usually plug my camper into shore power the day before going on a trip so that everything is fully charged up and the fridge can cool down completely before leaving.

My response is late, but FWIW we have been using the power top for over 7 years without a power issue even when the camper battery was down to 11 volts. It would be possible to hand crank the top although that would involve e unscrewing the facia which would be a pain.

It sounds like your camper circuit is not connected to your truck. You may want to look into doing that to help keep the battery charged. Solar is not always enough.
