Somehow, I suspected there would be an affinity for Calvin and Hobbes in this forum.

Here's to everyone having a Happy New Year with lots of adventures and fun.

HAPPY NEW YEAR from the Central Time Zone!
This afternoon I'm going to participate in a First Day Hike (stroll, actually) on the beach here at Sea Rim State Park on the very-southeast Texas coast, led by a naturalist.
I am also planning to do a 'first day paddle' (on my own) this morning. I'd like to take my kayak out on the Gulf... but if it's too choppy I'll take it out on the marsh side of this state park.

Stormiest New Years I can remember. I usually take Riley out of town for New Years. Not this year. Lots of highways closed. Somehow I got lucky and my power hasn't gone off. My dog watcher lives near Wilton, She got interviewed on Ch3. I took a drive this afternoon. Ponding everywhere. Cosumnes river at 49 is inches from the bridge. I hope it keeps the kids indoors.
