Has anyone ever tried AAA (triple A) for Insurance?

I see a lot of folks mentioning USAA. I am not eligible since I am not military apparently.

I have always thought highly of AAA in general, and it is my understanding that they will insure my Mass. based truck camper as my current insurance company will not.

Just curious if anyone has worked with them on these campers before thanks.

State Farm not available to me either.

Looking hard at Progressive as well.

thanks, what a resource here.

I have my truck insured by AAA of So Cal. The camper is included as a rider.
On a side note AAA considers any cabover camper, including ours, an RV and requires the RV towing option.

I went thru Good Sam as the agent, and have National General Ins on my motorhome, truck and FWC ( had before wreck and will have on new one. They paid well on my recent wreck and they provide coverage for personal property ( all the stuff in the camper), & emergency expenses (motel, food). Which came in handy. we continue our road trip after the accident staying in motels and they reimbursed me with receipts.

If you are't a Good Sam member, you can probably contact them directly.

USAA customer: added the camper to my F250 with almost no increase to premiums.

RE not military: my father hooked me up when I was younger (he was an army guy, I was never in the military) and I've not regretted it ever.

If you have anyone even close to being in the military in your family I would ask them to join if they aren't already and have them give you a "reference", i.e. I think you can invite others to join USAA.

See this link via google search for more info on joining USAA: https://debtfreegeek.org/2017/09/22/become-usaa-member-even-arent-military/

I've used AAA insurance for a couple 4WC as well as a hardside camper over the years. My current FWC is a 2014 with a large quantity of options.

It is listed on the declarations same as another vehicle, comprehensive/collision deductible 100/500. Current cost is $281 year. Insurance is sort of expensive (as is everything else) in San Jose

Hope that helps

I'm in Colorado with AAA, and starting about last year they removed their 20K value limit from truck campers, so since I already use them for home and vehicles, I added my Phoenix. Reasonable premium and deductible. In June I made a claim for damage to my awning & truck, and they responded promptly and professionally (agent was very knowledgeable about campers). I would recommend AAA.

I had a thread back a year ago about insurance when I got my new Grandby.

I have USAA and the camper is included with the truck but. . . . . not for everything. For instance, someone falling out the back door of the camper. The camper catching on fire. Out of warranty and a water line bursts. Freeze damage. Rodent damage. Lots of other things not covered by USAA.

I called Progressive. My motorcycle & side X side are covered by Progressive that is partnered with USAA.

Complete coverage (total replacement cost of camper) plus accessories & gear, liability, vacation liability, road side assistance is $161 a year.

I have $2000 accessories/gear coverage (pots, pans, food, blankets, sleeping bags, flashlights, etc.)

Camper value is $28,000

Colorado Mark,
Smart move getting the replacement cost coverage, hope you never need it, but you'll be much happier if you do. As I mentioned in my wreck post, you may what to document with receipts and photos all personal property stuff which isn't part of the original camper. The adjuster will make you prove everything. Also, you may be surprised how fast stuff adds up to $2000.
