Has anyone weighed their truck?

Ben, would it be possible to get the camper weight done (CAT scale?) right before the customer takes possession?

Is there a place on the "Document Fee / Statement of Origin" paper work to list the weight?

P.P.S. When I was at the 2007 Annual North American Truck Camper (NATCO) Rally & Show at Lake Ogallala State Park in Ogallala, Nebraska, I think some other camper brand does provide that weight.

Weighing before pickup

The statement of origin has always had the dry weight of the camper on it. To try to weigh every camper before pick up would be a bit of a pain. As you state, 50 mile round trip. Take the camper and truck over the scale, remove the camper from the truck, weigh the truck, put camper back on and come back.

Enough customers have done just this that I know the 300 to 350 pound addition for options, propane, water and customers gear is within a few pounds one way or the other.

I am actually going over a couple of pounds. When I was at FWC the average difference that we saw was 250 to 300 pounds. Over the years the campers have changed, more options are now available on the FWC, we have widened the campers so there are probably an extra 25 pounds or so that have been added over the years.

...and that seems a reasonable expectation range. I am fixin' to remove the camper for maintenance and should time permit, I'll try to tare the truck.

FWIW, I weighed the camper and got 1000# even, which shocked me at first. That was with jacks and propane.

835 which is only about 150# over the "base" weight of 690, so Ben seems to be right on. I have a Bobcat "shell" with furnace, couch and battery. The furnace, cabinet for furnace, propane and tank, couch and battery easily account for that 150#. I take the jacks off now when using the camper.
