This post won’t interest you off the grid Campers but for those like my wife and I who spend most of our time plugged in at RV parks this inexpensive electric heater works like a champ.
The factory propane heater in our 2015 Hawk works fine but it always seems to be either too chilly or too hot in the camper when the heater cycles on and off. The constant cycling would also worry me about running out of propane in the middle of the night even though the heater is quite efficient.
We recently spent 21 bucks on this little guy from Home Depot and it’s likely the best upgrade we’ve made to the Hawk. During a week long stay in Moab where the overnight temps were in the mid to low thirties our camper stayed at 65 to 68 degrees with the heater set on it’s low setting. When we shuffled off to the shower house in the morning I’d turn the switch up to high and when we returned 20 minutes later it would be 75 degrees in the camper. The wife was loving this action! It also has an adjustable thermostat so you can dial in your perfect temp. A fan only setting also creates a little white noise if that might help you sleep.
For 21 bucks it really enhanced our cold weather camping comfort.
