I spent 5 days / 4 nights of my Labor Day weekend visiting a few hot springs in the eastern Sierra Nevada and then had a blast in the Alabama Hills, which lie at the base of Mt. Whitney.

Here's a link to my Blog Post and Trip Report:

It appears that in addition to seeing some extraordinarily beautiful scenery, you met a diverse cross section of humanity! Thanks for sharing and taking us with you.

Thank you for taking us all on your wonderful adventure.
I feel opposite of you only because I come from the south. When I get to the southern most eastern face of the Sierras I know I'm soon to be in paradise. The 395 and Owens are truly special.

Thanks for the photos and report, Dad. 395 is one of my favorite roads and I love seeing photos from the area!

I enjoyed your report. I've met a few "denizens" myself over the years- albeit not at hot springs. I liked the guy with the "secret" camping spot. :)

GroovyDad, Great trip and TR. Felt like I was along for the ride and dip in one of those springs. Loved seeing Dexter enjoying himself in the creek. jd
