Thanks you to all the wonderful people that post the pop-ups for sale in the gear forum. I know this was meant to be now. I happened to wake up Saturday morning and natjwest had posted a Hawk for sale in Orlando area. I am 3 hours from there, so worth a phone call... Went to see it yesterday and it was so nice. Like brand new.

A 2002 Hawk, the folks threw so much extra stuff in. I feel like the luckiest girl ever! Pictures to come...

Ok, I love it. Can't wait for some new tires and some air bags or springs.

Hope the pics work

While you're waiting on tires and springs/bags you can plan the shakedown cruise. Congrats!

Congrats- looks great. Hoping to find something that clean as well.

I'm glad your looking helped too!! What are the chances you are out west and can't find your "dream" camper, but I am in Florida and found mine!?!?!?!

I didn't get the steal of the century, but I got a fair price for a barely used camper. It saved me at least $10,000 from getting a new one.

I took it off the truck today. Getting my new Michelin ltx a/t 2's either tomorrow or Thursday, then will get some air bags and I'll be ready to go.

Gotta get something for a fridge... we'll see

Thanks again

Well,

I got my new tires yesterday. I love them. Got Michelin ltx A/T 2's lt265/75/r16 Load range "E". I like the way the truck rides with them and no camper. Can't wait to see how it is with the camper.

Next is airbags, then I am ready for the road.

Would ya'll do the shocks all the way around as well?

Thanks

I'm still running my stock shocks, seems decent for now. If I ever change them maybe I'll see what I was missing. :p

If your shocks are still good I wouldn't bother unless you have some serious off road plans right away.
Haven't you spent enough money already?

The camper came at such a good deal, I can now afford some of the things I would have put off.

I am eyeing an Engel front open fridge and mounting it where the icebox thing is. Need to call FWC and check that it would work.

Then just getting some help wiring the deep cycle to charge off the truck while driving and some sort of air deflector and I will be set.

Does anyone know why the Shady Boy awning won't work off the back door?

I still need to work for a few months to make the $$ for the trip, but looks like next summer I'll be off for at least 6 months of adventure!

I had a Shady Boy awning for a couple years. It is a very nice awning, just takes a little time to set up.

I would see no problems with it on the back of a FWC, if there is enough room to mount it above the door.
