Anybody got tips on getting ice chunks off roof latches? I can't latch it down.

There'saybe 100-200 land of ice/snow on top.aybe I can drive 55 till warmer climes this afternoon?

Thank you

Yes I think that's the best bet. And although it's pretty easy, I'm lazy and was hoping there might be an even simpler way. I'll ski a few more runs then fire up the stove.

If it's just a little ice on the latches, how about chipping/prying it off with a screwdriver?

Or am I misunderstanding the problem?

All the above-plus run down to ace/grocery store and get a can of that spray deicer stuff you use on your windshield or door handles -always carry a can or two with me (part of my "unstuck" gear) and it works-although sometimes you still need to beat it with broom handle or rubber hammer!

This is great, thank you all. They were really really thick chunks this morning, but they shrank some during the day. Squeezing with pliers helped, and cleaning up the last bit with a screwdriver did too. For the roof part, beating with the rubber end of a big wrench made it manageable enough to get in with a screwdriver.

Thanks again all. Going to keep an eye out for the deicer stuff.
