J bolt size?

Guys - I managed to bend one of my J bolts on the factory turnbuckle while installing the camper (tried to fine adjust the camper location in the box with the bolts hanging loosely by one end and got one of them 'trapped' under the camper when I lowered it down..arghh). Anybody able to tell we what size these things are? I will order a replacement online...

I just measured the ones on my 2015 Hawk and the J bolt size is between 3/8 and 5/16, might be metric?

3/8 X 16 thread size, one regular thread, one reverse thread.

Seems like a perfect opportunity to upgrade to better turn-buckles.

ntsqd - suggestions? I looked at the Derringers but I wasn't convinced that they would fit in the small space. My rig is a 2012 Hawk on a 2013 Ram 2500

I agree with nt on this, I'd replace all the turnbuckles. Don't know what you have up there but I got forged Tbuckles from Fastenal.

Bill - Can you let me know what size/model you went with? They don't look to sell hook/hook buckles. Did you go with hook/eye? If so, what did you use to connect the 2 eyes? Or did you go with the jaw/jaw set up.

I didn't use the factory I bolt on the truck side so I was able to use a hook/eye. You could use it with the I bolt with a steel quick link. You can see what I did on the truck side in page 2 of this post:
