Now that winter, and the thought of storing the camper are,(I hate to say this!)just around the corner, has anyone mounted any type of wheels to the feet of the mechanical jacks versus building a dolly to roll it into the garage?

Any information and or pic's would help.

Thanks,

Paul

Give the search engine a go...there are thread(s) out there on the subject. Try searching "dolly" and you should find some old stuff.

It has came up before and the general though is you'd be playing with fire in regards to the camper frame. The example given was it you had it rolling along and then a stone or raise concrete grabbed the wheel of one of the casters you'd have all the mass of the camper pushing on quite a moment arm that is pinned in place. Long story short you'd likely kink the side frame which isn't designed for that or rip the screws out of the metal.

If you were still so inclined to pursue this I'd say you need to solidly brace between each jack just above the casters so if one did catch it would stop the movement of everything by distributing the force at the caster level and not into the corner of the camper.

GO WITH THE DOLLY !

every camper I have seen over the years that had caster wheels attached to the bottom of the 4 corner jacks, had a bent frame on at least one corner of the camper
