Just wondering how everyone carries the toys.
My goal was to keep drag and weight to a minimum while taking 2 kayaks and bikes on tight 4X4 logging roads.
I made a rack that holds a kayak on the side covering the window.
Whitewater kayaks fit well, while sea kayaks are oversized but fit.
The rack is removeable in 3 minutes and has saved me from paying those over hight fees on the ferries.
I used 2X4's with a bolt to hold it to the camper, a 3/4" pipe on for a vertical bar with a cap that has an eye bolt(for strap). It sticks out 12" and makes loading a breeze. This way I can pop up with no weight, and not worry when going thru low clearance areas.
