I came across a custom build recently on this site that I can't find now. Someone had a custom built 10 ft CO that sadly burnt up then he started over with a custom 14 footer this year. Can someone direct me to the location of that forum topic? I think the name might have been Carlyle?

Also, you posted this on another thread:
"Right now I don't have a truck and from what I've been told an Alaskan camper won't fit in the GM bed because they narrowed the tailgate opening on their last restyle."

Not according to a response from Alaskan Camper:
"The best fit for your new GM CCSB is the 7ft camper. Some people do put an 8ft camper on the short box but it usually puts the center of gravity behind the rear axles an inch or two. I've attached some pics of the 7ft."
Thanks,
Bryan Wheat

I'm going with the 8ft bed and probably an 8ft CO if not a 10ft CO. I think the problem is with the 8ft CO on an 8ft bed. The two sections at the back with the propane and cassette in them is too wide. The 10 ft CO that section is probably on the tailgate and not a problem. That's how I understand it.

Hey RoadHermit, according to Alaskan there no problems fitting their campers to the GM twins, whatever the bed length:

"The Alaskan 8ft fits inside the tailgate on the new GM's 8ft bed. We also make a 8.5 that goes an inch shy of the end of the bumper and is only $200.00 more than the 8ft. We do have one of those in stock."
Thanks,
Bryan

Sounds like you may have received some wrong info.
