Low profile roof platform

Looking at options to install a low profile roof platform. The standard yak/Thule base+foot+crossbar just seems too elevated.

Interested in rhino rack backbone. They have listed for several different truck models. Unclear what is difference? Any idea what would work with FWC installed Yakima tracks?

If you have a vent or Fantastic Fan, be careful that the rack and whatever you put on it clears the top. Even with a Yakima rack, we need to be careful loading boats on the roof

I installed T-Slot from Lee Valley Garden tools and used plain 1" square alum tubing to build my solar panel/canoe rack. Whole thing is maybe 1 1/2" tall.
 
The difference in roof rack systems like those the OP linked is that they are curved on the bottom to match the roof of the intended vehicle. I've no idea if there is a straight bottom version offered by any of those vendors.
