lp gas hold down

you guys know that i have been whining about that stupid bolt used to hold down the lp bottle...well i have an idea.

get a bolt - grind the head down so that it is a stud.
drill a hole crosswise just big enough for a pin.
screw it into the nut, loctite it.

if the hole is high enough to allow the bottle's bracket to slip over, then a washer, followed by a pin.

voila! a quick and easy hold down clamp....no more wrenching!

will it work?

can you decipher what i am explaining?
 
I can follow some of your idea.....are you talking about a clevis pin?

I used a large wing nut, easy to remove held strong.
 
something like this...


but with the threads to fit the existing captive nut....

the head of the stud needs to fit the existing hole in the bottle's hold down bracket.
