I make frequent trips to ATC to visit with Marty and Jeff, drink their coffee, and eat their donuts. Over the last year or so, I’ve been watching a project the guys have been working on during their spare time. Starting with a long bed Chevy 4X4 pickup, they removed the bed, extended the frame and started a “frame on” camper. This was built so the guys could make a few of the WTW rallies, and actually get away and do some camping. I’m not sure if I’d call it a camper, it’s more like a pop-up motor home. Whatever you call it, it’s really nice. It’s very roomy as I was in it with 3 other men and we could still move around with ease.
I asked Marty and Jeff who was going to be the first to break it in, and they said they didn’t know. I volunteered to take it on the initial trip and report back to them any problems encountered. I haven’t heard back on my offer…
It’s 99% complete, and only needs curtains, the hitch receiver, and a small cover. I took a few photos today…Check out the custom rear bumper with a Hi-Lift jack built in!
Marty & Jeff’s new toy…..
