2800 miles without a schedule. Started in Salt Lake City, Utah. Heading to NWOR 2015. Stopped at various forest campgrounds on the way. Spent 2 days at rally and headed north of the border. Canadian crossing was ok until they decided to due a complete inventory of everything and every nook and cranny of my truck and camper. They were really nice and polite and put everything back where they found it. I guess they don't like when you answer the questions with I don't know where I am going and I don't know how long I will be. Onto Chilliwack. Wife found a neat antique store she spent hours in. Luckily she didn't buy anything. Traveled along highway 3 and found a spot for the night. Then onto Osoyoo Lake, spent a Few nights there and was treated to a wonderful lightning show. Enough of the 108 temperature and head to Glacier Park. Dropped back into Washington and got a the US Customs search of everything. It must be my look or something. Spent some time bouncing around Washington and Oregon. Entering Glacier Park was pleasant. Spent first night in Fish Creek and then headed to Kintla Lake, was definetly worth the drive. Couple nights there then onto Road to the Sun. and onto St. Mary's. Then Meander back to Salt Lake City.

Great TR. Looks like great trip. Would love to see a map with your route. Thanks for posting.

Driller, don't feel like the Canadian Mounties were out to get you, well maybe :)...I too, just returned from Canada (entered and exit) via Hwy 97. Like you, and perhaps it's the look of our campers, but I got the royal treatment too. I did everything right, new where I was going, for how long and all my paperwork was in order. They were polite and courteous and returned everything they moved back in it's place. The officer asked me to come out and help open/lift my camper top. Coming back into USA was uneventful and I was back home. Had an excellent adventure. I will go again someday.

Driller,we have had that same experience crossing into Victoria. Need to make sure you tell them where you are going. But things went well so all was ok.
Both sides sure like to give our campers the once over.
Got nothing to hide,so you just answer the questions and be polite.
All in all your trip sounds like it went well.
Frank

What was kind of funny is the officer kept asking me where I was going in Canada and I kept answering him that I had no clue. He would just give me a blank stare. I was telling him that I often travel with no plans and go where ever the wind tells me to. He really didn't understand and he would ask me again. I actually thought it was quite amusing. I always answered politely and with a smile. Then I got sent inside and the pretty girl asked me where I was going again so I told her where ever the wind blows. She answered back Oh you must be retired, absolutey I answered. So I asked her if the guys searching my camper needed any help and she told me no. The funny part is they never popped up the camper and checked where all the good storage is under the bed. Actually it was kind of fun.
