The bottom of the water crossing is firm and relatively smooth. We took two Tundra's thru in 2016 when it was about 36" deep. If either was lifted it was more a "Leveling Kit" that much more than that.A trick that one of the guys in those trucks knew was to pop the top of the air filter canister loose. Effectively raised the air intake depth to only a few inches lower than the hood.
 
watched those videos an the guy say they got water in as side tool box, that what brought my question!!
