I'm thinking of hitting New Mexico in March to photograph some mining towns. Silver City is the only one I am familiar with. Any suggestions on towns to see, places to camp, or anything else I should plan on doing while down there?

See my post on future rally's or better yet http://www.ghosttowns.com/states/nm/nmcounty.html

I was in Lake Valley today and a great lunch in Hillsboro ad through Kingston, all in Sierra County. There is a little campground in Kingston, lots of forest service campgrounds nearby. Gila Cliff Dwellings, several campsites in the National Monument or just outide in the National Forest, some along the river.

Mogollon is a nice ghost town and the site of major mining operations, although there are still many inhabitants. It is located just north of Glenwood,NM on the Bursam road. It is a nice drive.Great trails to hike in the Gila Wilderness.Dont miss the Catwalk in Glenwood. Here is a link ,hope it works http://www.ghosttowns.com/states/nm/mogollon.html
