Looks like we may be spending a couple of months in New Zealand a bit over a year from now. Anyone have any advice on renting a camper or anything else relevant to that.

Have a friend that they went a few years back and rented a van camper. I remember it was painted all kind of colors and patterens. Enjoy your trip!

My son is just back from a month there. He rented a camper in Auckland on the north island from this outfit and had a great time although driving on the left took some getting used to. Toured Tongariro National Park, hiked, kayaked, camped. Returned the camper in Wellington and took the ferry to the south island. Used a car on the south island. In addition to seeing glaciers and other things, took a helicopter from Queensland up Doubtful Sound where they got a boat to tour the Sound. Tacked a week in Sydney on to the end. Quite the trip. Good luck with your planning. It looks like a fascinating place to visit.

New Zealand flat out rocks. It is like visiting the U.S. in 1920, before all the lawyers made everybody afraid to do anything, fearing they would be sued.
