In October, we took a trip through Oregon. First night just across the western border. We spent
9 days roaming through the state. We stayed on some forest river land outside of bend, and were hoping to ride the McKenzie River trail as well as a couple sections of the NUT. However, we got rained out of both. We made up for it by hitting up a couple beautiful vineyards and poking around the rainforest. It was truly breathtaking country.
We did manage to get a good flowy downhill ride through the Redwoods when we hit the coast and dipped down into California. It was pretty surreal riding singletrack through the rainforest, getting dumped out onto grassy dunes, wandering in and out of the treeline with waves crashing within eyesight, and taking breaks to check out waterfalls, all during the roosevelt elk rut. It was a pretty unique experience.
We wandered up the coast, checking out lighthouses and letting the dogs open it up on the beach. This was their first trip to the ocean, and they had a ball, even the 14 yo Old man.

The two younger girls had a blast exploring and tearing across the secluded beaches. They absolutely loved the firm sand giving them a grippy, yet soft surface to really open up on.
Our vizsla, in particular, took full advantage of being able to really stretch it out and fly across the sand.
I look forward to hitting this area up again in hopefully drier weather so we can get on our bikes more. A ten day trip didn't do this country justice.
