Olallie lake oregon 7/12/14

So last Saturday after working, I decided to do a a last minute camping trip to Olallie lake. I had never been there before and the road was gravel and dirt going there. the campground was full so just found a spot at the lake and set up camp.

time to check out the lake and see how the fishing is...

the fish were biting but nothing big..

and tasty too

perfect evening...

Even had ice cream for dessert.. Leaving the camper on the truck is working out really well for last minute trips. I will be going again soon.

Two other places in that immediate area are Monon Lake, and Brietenbush Lake. The road south from Olallie is a bit rough, but certainly doable. We prefer Brietenbush.

Will work on the larger pics. seems google+ makes them a bit small.

I will need to try the other two lakes it is a nice area....

If you try Breitenbush you might want to take a look at the rules as they are a little restrictive since the lake is on the Reservation.

I've spent a ton of time on those lake shores and it was a favorite place of mine with a lot of great memories. I was up there last year and wrote a trip report that's in here somewhere.

those rules are a bit restrictive.... The no berry picking was a surprise.

The campground is on the reservation, however, on the other side of the road it's non-reservation land. And the huckleberries are good!
