Onboard air

Back in the old days I used to carry small SCUBA tank (45 Cu Ft) in the back of my Blazer. Had an old regulator that I removed the 2nd stage from and replaced with a air tool disconnect. The first stage dropped pressure to 120psi and it worked great for compressed air needs on the road. Air fills were a couple bucks at any dive shop.

Advantage of CO2 over compressed air is the phase change from gas to liquid under pressure. Results in a lot more stored gas volume for the same container size. Downside is freezing regulators in cold environs or cooler environs when a high volume demand is placed on the system.

Can piece together a CO2 system for less than the commercially sold systems, but you'll need to do the research. It's likely been covered on any 4x4 forum you're likely to consult.
