On the wrong side of the mountains!
We just got back from our 1st trip with our 4WC Eagle Shell. And it wasn't even on the truck! Those following the Moon Truck build know that it isn't finished yet. So for our annual beach trip we had to do something else. That ended up being that we mounted the camper back on the boat trailer. It works well and we even mounted bike racks on the trailer under the overhang.

The rig tows well and is stable parked as a camper. We had a lot of positive comments from people at the campground on the rig. Yes we stayed in a NPS camprground on Ocracoke Island, NC. For the most part it's a quiet place and has flush toilets and outside showers. We were supposed to stay a week with friends and extended to 10 days. Mama Squatch loves the camper! We went unruffled by a couple of storms and some heat.

Our kitchen for the trip. We never even got around to trying the stove in tha camper.

More beach pics.

Our trail to the beach.

Busy day on the East Coast's best beach.

Ocracoke beach high rise.

This is "Digger". He was the camp host in our screen house. We had coffee together each morning. These Ghost Crabs cover the beach at night by the zillions cleaning up the beach.

A friend fishing the surf.

I love watching the pelicans!

This little puffer fish washed up on the beach.

Thanks Ski. A couple more pics of the rig.

We saw several Truck campers at the campground and spoke with their owners. I think a couple may even be on this forum. Several folks we met were heading to Overland Expo East when the left.

And as a side benefit, you can back up to the beach and launch it, paddle around and then pull it right back on the trailer! :) Almost worth keeping in on that trailer except the boat may miss it.

Great way to do your first trip in the new camper, until the truck gets finished.
In our travels we have seen other FWC/ATC campers on trailers.
Seems to work.
Nice beach time, love the beach. But we live only 3 miles from the beach. It's great.
