What are people using to monitor their battery systems. Ideally one with a shunt that tracks amperage in/out. This looks like is would be good but maybe there are some cheaper alternatives. I don't have a solar panel yet but will some day, but want to not abuse the batteries by running them too low when boondocking. I know in the past I have had a propane furnace run the batteries down in cold weather and I have had to fire up a generator in the middle of the night.
