Questions about replacing the vinyl

So I’m replacing the vinyl and a new roof on my 1982 bronco FWC. I I was going to attach the vinyl to the roof and then wrap the aluminum roof over the vinyl so it laps correctly. But what I’m wondering is.....what is the process? Should I attach it to the roof first then the camper body? I imaging you have it popped up and slip the vinyl around and roughly into place. Should I start at the top?
