Random FWC Photos

Only about a 1/4 of the playa was drivable. The middle was under water and everything else was insanely sticky / soft.
What time of year was that? Looks like good photography possibilities when the playa is wet. Any more photos to share?

I've never seen it wet! Very cool.
The Alvord playa usually gets water-covered, at least mostly, late-winter/spring when snow on Steens Mt melts. And wet means undrivable.

Here are some photos from a visit I made to the Alvord in April 2011 -- wet.
(I found these on my Facebook Photos page...I must have the originals somewhere...?)
Only the first one is legitimately "Random FWC Photos", but the other three (the thumbnails) were taken at the same place and time, so maybe they'll pass the Moderators stern judgement.

I parked my truck safely up in the salt grass margin...away from the terrible tire-sucking muck. ;)

When I was there it was difficult to tell from a distance whether it was wet or dry. One of the reasons I didn't drive out there.

That picture was taken this last Saturday. It would be awesome if it were fully covered in water

As the O.P. of this thread, I say they are ok to stay. ;) Thanks.

Little trip out to Anza Borrego for New Years.

I took a few photos this past weekend. We went down near Bluff, UT. Found some Indian ruins, camped in Valley of the Gods, and saw some hot air balloons in the towns yearly festival. It was a good trip and nice to get out of the crappy air we get in northern utah this time of year.
