Running the build in heater in cold weather

The Amazon reviews are hilarious. People really love or hate that thermostat. Of course, our use is unique and the low temperature setting and large hysteresis are exactly what is needed for our soft sided campers. I'm going to try and find a non-programmable unit somewhere.

I've ordered the thermostat. I still want to try and make the furnace operate a bit quieter. I confirmed my model, Everest Start 7916-II. I'll try calling Atwood to see if any of the newer parts can be swapped in and if that would make any difference for the blower noise.

I just spent 5 nights in weather around 20 degrees at night.
I ran the factory heater and a wave 3 heater.
The wave 3 heater stays on with my fantastic fan vent open a little bit.
The trick is to open it fully and then run it only at 10% (I have the 12 speed model).
I then pull the lever to run it on manual and lower the lid until the fan will just keep running.
I pull fresh air in and keep some positive pressure with the fan running - it minimizies the cold air escaping but still circulates the fresh air.
Had 4 kids in the camper with me.
No problem keeping temperatures whatever we wanted - 65 degrees most nights.
Lots of condensation of course with that set up.
We used about 2/3 of one bottle of propane and the solar system keep us charged up during the day no problem.
System works great for us.
