Took the Iron Pig to a car show last weekend. Saw a car camper; it fits in the trunk of a full sized sedan. I talked with the owner for a few minutes. The camper is all aluminum, claimed weight was ~300 lbs empty (he said his two sons could lift it), owner said they were made for a number of cars from the '50s. The trunk lid is removed and the camper fits into the trunk cavity utilizing the trunk gasket to seal (therefore it is car model specific). There is enough room on the floor for one person to sit, full sized north-south bed, stove, sink, didn't ask about tanks.

The car is a rust bucket but the camper looked to be in good shape. It was made by Leichner Manufacturing Co., Champaign, Illinois; a quick search didn't bring up anything.

Hey, what kind of awning do you have on it? And do you like it?
The side is a "Carefree" and the rear a "Fiamma" I like the action of the carefree, super easy to use. I hindsight though both are too high once the camper is popped up and are problematic in both the forest and desert, your either hitting trees or making a sail. I bought new and spec'd it that way, it I had it to do over i'd delete those items.
