Any good spots to pop up in Seattle? I've just started to do a little business in the Seattle area and I prefer sleeping in my 4wheel over a hotel.

Seattle is a generic term for the region, any specific area (i.e Eastside, South Sound, North End, etc) or are you going to be all around? Looking to stay somewhat easily accessible to the urban areas or something a little more remote for a few day at a time?

X2. I have camped along the I90 corridor along with tiger pass east of Seattle. I stay away from actual Seattle though... There is a lot of camping in the cascades east of the Seattle region.

I'm going to be visiting clients in Downtown Seattle so as close to the center as possible. Where would you camp if going to a concert, football or baseball game? I'll be entering from the North and leaving from the South. Thanks for any suggestions even if 45 minutes from downtown.

I love the cascades and camped just off the I90 when I was picking up my camper from Boise, but as I will be driving from Vancouver Canada to Port Angeles WA, I don't want to head up I90.

I live in the Seattle area. There is no good location to simple pull over and sleep for the night. Additionally, the Seattle area has seen an increase in homeless people living in RVs which is increasing the chance for people to call the police. Potential locations I know of are:
  • A few miles east of Issaquah take the High Point exit off of I-90. Turn right at the bottom of the exit, then left after about 100 feet to an area with jersey barriers. This was a homeless camp that moved on. It is DNR land so the county sheriff can't evict you. You may still get a knock on your door. Not a good place, but functional. The rest of the parking area is not DNR land so you can be evicted.
  • Somewhere off of Hwy 18 south of I-90. This is the road over Tiger Mt. I think there might be a few roads that get you off the hwy.
  • The Snoqualmie Casino in I-90 may allow overnight parking. It has a great view.
  • There is a county owned campground in Carnation.
  • There is a private campground in Fall City.
  • Both campgrounds are closed if the river is flooding which it does about 5 times a year.

This is a big issue right now.

There is nowhere I would camp near downtown Seattle. Tiger mountain is nice but most of the roads are gated off within a 100 or two hundred feet of the freeway.

I hate to say it but you will have to drive 30-40 minutes to get to somewhere you can camp unless you want to go to a Walmart (NOT advised) or a Casino which might be a shot (or shall we say... a roll of the dice).

Good point on the homeless camps, etc. Almost any viable location in the metropolitan area has been squatted on (in every sense of the word) by homeless.

There's some RV parks around but they seem to charge ridiculous amounts just to park overnight even if you don't use hook ups. With our traffic, downtown can be 45 minutes away from downtown, really variable. I don't think any of the city, county or state parks allow overnighters. Your best bet would probably be along the I90 corridor. There's a nice private campground/park on the south end of Lake Sammamish (east side of Bellevue), Vasa Park, that might fit the bill. Not to far out and they have all sorts of camping allowed there, right on the lake.

Dash Point State Park may be too far but it is one of the few options. I would add a clicki but don't see that option.

Thanks everyone. To be clear, happy to pay for camping! Have a great March!
