Shaving off weight

First of all let me say that I don't consider our campers overweight. But I still like the idea of taking as much weight off as possible. Even if I later add it on again in the form of all the stuff that I "really" have to take along on the trips.

Here's my thing:

I've seen the EZ Dri foam a few times in different boat shows. It is used for all different kinds of seat cushions, mattresses, seats etc. It doesn't hold water, mold proof and pretty light.

Here is a link to the company website:

http://www.ez-dri.com/index.html

If it works for boats, it should work for campers as well, right?

My question would be now what the density of the foam in our seat cushions and mattresses is?

Anybody has an idea?

EZ Dry specifies their foam to be 1.8 pounds per cu foot.

Looks like a great product, I'm interested in using it more for the mold and odor resistance, but weight savings would be an added bonus. Yet another piece of technology that I would expect to see standard in a $14,000 camper:confused:

Foam Weight

Just talked to our foam supplier and the weight of the foam that we are using is 1.5 pounds per cubic foot.

In my case it would be cheaper if I just went on a diet :thumb:
