solar controller question - in panel or in camper?

I have a portable 40W Coleman solar panel which plugs into the ports on the camper as installed by the factory and does seem to charge the camper battery.
I wanted to know if there is any problem hooking two of these systems up at the same time (one in the back socket and one in the roof one), or should I be using one controller for both systems. I.E, should I be able to plug in two 40W panels, each of which has its own controller or should I switch to an in camper solar charge controller?

while less than ideal, two of these will work fine.

Ideally you want the charge controller as close to the batteries as possible.
