Solar Wiring Question

So I'm adding another 100 Watt panel to my existing 95 Watt FWC system. I got the panel off and I was hoping to see the standard MC4 solar plugs instead I saw the 2 prong electrical plug attached, EXCEPT both wires are black. My question is which one is POSITIVE the male prong end or the female end?
This plug was spliced onto the wiring coming directly out of my 95 Watt stock solar panel wired by FWC.
I'll have to splice a MC4 plug to the panel and to the end of the 2 prong wire that goes into the roof panel.

Test the polarity with a digital multimeter. Remove all doubt.

I can't remember, but it will be the opposite of whatever way you splice it.

I'm pretty sure the female end should be positive and the male end negative but Paul is absolutely correct about removing all doubt. I put a red electrical tape marker around my positive wires so I know at a glance which is which in case I have to do deal with changing out my solar panels yet again.

Ok I called FWC and they confirmed the female prong on the plug is POSITIVE.

Male connectors should ALWAYS point upstream to the source. That way the connector with power(female) is never uncovered and exposed to possibly touching something it shouldn't.
