Greetings

Does anyone have the general (or specific ! ) timing when visitors can likely see Orcas at Bere Point park opposite Pt McNeil?

We have been in the area before but never when they were itchy.....and rubbing on the beaches.

Many thanks

Wow

I didn't see that!

Many thanks

That whole upper part of Vancouver Island is a joy once you get accustomed to the corporate scale logging.

We like to go back into the Broughton Archipelago with the boat. Usually launch at Telegraph Cove or Alder Bay. It's a lot more scenic.

Greetings folks

I seem to have finally found out that mid July to mid august seem to be the best times to possibly see this whale behavior.

Of course, the whales may not read WTW.

That's my take also. 1st of July thru August. We have paddled up there 3 times and not seen the orcas. Paddled from Campbell river to pt hardy in June and zip. Lots of porpoise and bear neat to see.
If planning a trip cormorant and McNeil islands are neat to see and available by ferry

I'm going to travel around Vancouver Island at the end of summer. Any tips on must see places and camping spots?
I can give you lots of tourist tips around the Southern part of the island / Victoria. I have been there 2X per year for the past 6 years or so. I've traveled almost the entire island, but I don't know the central and northern part of the island very well.

I'm not into remote/backwoods camping on the island. We stay at Goldstream. It's 16km from downtown Victoria and it is an incredibly beautiful campground. You feel like you are hours from the city, but it's so close and convenient. It's clean, safe, quiet and oh so beautiful. The trees are all 150+ feet tall.

Waterfalls, hiking trails etc.
It's an excellent location to take day trips from. Even if you drive a couple hours from it, for a trip.
