Sounds bad, they're trying to get everyone out of Loon and the Rubicon trail.
Isn't that the fire by Ski's area back in 2014?craig333 said:Good news its heading in the direction of the King fire, Should slow it down a bit.
I checked in with Ski tonight. If this fire blows their way, they are hoping the scar from the King fire will slow or stop it. But it is in "their backyard" as they call it and an area they frequent, so it is yet another frustrating blow to an already bad season.Casa Escarlata Robles Too said:Isn't that the fire by Ski's area back in 2014?

Yup, PG&E turns off the power during red flag conditions and people burn down their house not properly using a generator. We walked by yesterday evening and this morning. Back corner of the house is burned. Three large cedars are scorched by the flames but missed reaching the crowns by a foot or so. Very, very lucky. The response was quick. It is good to be less than a mile from Station 17.Casa Escarlata Robles Too said:We have friends who live close to Ski and there was a house fire yesterday in their neighborhood.
Started be a generator problem. The fire fighters were on it very fast.Could have been a huge problem.

Sorry, no. Initial report said it was caused by a generator. The back of the house is burned, looking like the ignition point was beside the house. I'm curious for more information, also. I think it may have been a rental with one unit on the top floor and one below. They, just in the last two weeks, had the front porch deck replaced and driveway work done. It is a sad incident, but perhaps the house is not a total loss.Mighty Dodge Ram said:Ski: any idea what the improper use of generator entails? I’ve decided not to use my gasoline powered unit at our cabin even though it is equipped with a spark arrestor. A huge fire burned through town in 2007 and I’m just a bit paranoid about using power equipment outside during red flag season.
