That was me. I went down and waited for them to open and after checking the thing out decided to buy it. It is an eagle around 2003 I'm guessing. Pretty rough cosmetically but everthing was functional. Basic stove and sink setup, no heater or refridgerator. Roof was a little tweaked due to hitting something but still closed ok. All and all it was a pretty good deal. I was buying for a buddy that was out of town when it came up. It was in an impound lot and the guy had no idea what it was. Only wish I got half as good a deal on my Hawk....

No worries man. That's how the used market for an FWC Eagle goes. I finally got one of my own and can't believe what good shape it's in so guess it all worked out for the best.

Cheers

okay, so who got the eagle in WA that I posted a couple of days ago?

1998 Eagle $5000 Cathlamet, WA

That would be ME!

After a lot of emails, pictures, and a couple phone calls back and forth with the owner over the course of approx 12hrs I put a deposit down on it via paypall. Then the following week I drove out to WA to confirm it was everything he described and paid up the rest of the money. The thing is SWEET! I will get into more detail later when I post my purchase experience, experience with FWC factory and staff, and pictures w/ general descriptions; but couldn't be happier.

There was someone next in line that was calling seller to see if I actually showed up to get it. Hopefully I didn't step on anyone toes but certainly worked hard to get this and went though a couple deals fallen through before I purchased what I did. I guess its sort of paying your dues on the used FWC Eagle market.

Saw this one today, 7/14, on Craigslist Portland, OR. Washougal is located across the Columbia in Washington, just east of Vancouver.

Fourwheel Pop up Truck Campr - $380 (washougal)

It had some new stuff but also said it needs some work. Seller speculates it's a late 80's Grandby because it's 8' long.

Tempting just for the jacks. :p

Lightweight cabover popup camper
I have much more than what I am asking just in material and it's never been used. Started as a Four Wheel brand camper but the wood was so rotten I basically scrapped everything. Unfortunately I had to sell the truck I was going to use it on so I don't have much incentive to finish it. It was designed to fit my 07' Dodge Dakota but it will fit most trucks. Might be a bit wide at the bottom for most mini trucks. Ideal for newer quad cab trucks, about 7' long so it sticks out just a bit with a 6' bed without the tailgate. No interior, and no popup material (I have the old stuff for a template and I have a brand new heavy duty tarp that I was going to use that I will throw in). Old school windows that dial out, and modular construction so if you want to you can shorten it real easy.

Campers don't get any lighter, diamond plate aluminum floor, stepsides from formed flat aluminum sheetmetal, diamond plate up on the top bed. Heavy Channel (welded) upper rail, etc. Consider trades for ? Dirt bike, gocart, ??

Camper is in great overall used condition. If you were to order this new from the factory with all of these features, it would cost you over $16,000 and typically, you'd wait up to 12 weeks for delivery (depending on season). Probably the best of campers for off-road trucks too; light weight (base model dry weight is advertised as 700 lbs), low profile (10 inches above cab in the down position), plenty of head room (6 ft. 6 in. when popped up), with a strong aluminum frame. One of very few campers suitable for a standard half-ton pick up.

2009 Four Wheel Camper Hawk Shell Model - $7500
http://reno.craigslist.org/rvs/2502013761.html
This is a 2009 FWC Hawk shell model ("Hawk" stickers replaced with glow in the dark "VULTURE" stickers). it has the extended sleeping area, electronic vent fan, mechanical jacks, removable front window, 10' Yakima tracks, towers and bars. with delivery and installation and Yakima bars, paid about $10k. minor scratches on interior from gear and normal use and some bush scratches on exterior from back roads driving, as any FWC ought to have. other than that, it's in very good condition.

i can meet someone within a few hundred miles and am happy to help with installation on it's next truck, or perhaps something can be arranged at the local FWC facility if needed.

howdy folks. i just ran across a pretty good condition keystone that will fit my truck - a dodge 2500. my question to you all is that my truck is a short bed (6'9"), and the keystone is a 9' camper. other than having about 1' stick past the tailgate when it's down, is there another reason that a keystone will not work on a short bed truck? my truck is plenty capable of hauling the weight, so that's not an issue in my mind. the only issue i think is appearance. can someone please prove me wrong before i get too attached to this camper and want to buy it?

thanks in advance.

Your call but personally I wouldn't want that much camper hanging off the back of my rig in terms of weight, aesthetics, and maneuverability. Putting a grandby on a short box is one thing, a keystone would REALLY stick out there I think.

Just my $.02.

Edit: By weight I mean weight balance being so far rear on the rig, the majority is going to be behind the rear axle.

I think the camper will stick 9 or 10 past the end of your tail gate.

Will it work ? Sure, if you don't mind it sticking out that far.

But it puts alot of camper and alot of weight behind the rear axle.

If it is an older Keystone and has not been narrowed, it will probably be TOO wide to fit in your truck.

Check the FWC website, that have a general used fit list guide there.

Hey all;

I just posted my Hawk and F150 up for sale in the Gear Exchange and over on ExPo.

Hope this helps out someone looking for a camper in the northeast - I spent an awfully long time tracking one down last year!
