So I saw a "four wheel camper" that allegedly fit Toyota Tacomas listed on Tom's Camperland website (Tempe AZ) for $1995, got all hot and bothered, looked at the pics online and thought hmmm, that really doesn't look like a Four Wheel to me. Maybe an old shell, but even then the width, height, fabirc, etc didn't look right. Turns out it DOESN'T actually fit a tacoma, not enough room between the wheel wells. It's very basic, needs some love, but might be the right camper for the right person. I thought I'd throw it up here in case anyone in the valley is looking and has a Tundra, T-100 or the like.

Sorry mods, thought I was posting in the Used Camper Alert Thread. Please feel free to move!

Wow,
Looks like a 4WC that has been rebuilt all the way around? Maybe a very early short bed model that has been re-done from top to bottom? Maybe a 4WC cousin?
I am going to guess not OEM?

Who knows.

Roger

That camper has some similar design features as an FWC, but my best guess is that it is NOT a four wheel pop-up camper.

Looks more like a home made camper in my opinion.

A bit over priced for an older unknown brand pop-up up.

Should be priced more in the $ 750 - $ 1000 range if it were to be posted on craigslist.

(again, just my opinion, not trying to bash)

It could be a great little camper for the right person.

Looks to be in decent shape.

:)

I actually went and had a look at it in person, to see if it was feasible to maybe cut out sections around the wheel wells to fit a Tacoma. It is not feasible. They actually "sold" it to a guy from Northern AZ who drove down with his Tacoma, and it didn't fit. He was mighty disappointed. Definitely a homemade job I would say, pretty good workmanship. The lift mechanism is quite primitive, two hinged pieces of plywood held together with a barrel bolt. There is an olympian heater (wave 3 size but older). The seating is basic, the bed is actually two outdoor chair cushions. I noted a couple small holes in the liner. I think $1995 is their website asking price, I noticed they had some lower prices on site compared to the web site.
