Section 4.4 of the MPPT manual covers this. It states that a separate chassis ground “is permitted” because the chassis is isolated from both the positive and negative power connections. Note it does not say “is required.” If you would like a safety ground connected to the chassis you could connect it to your camper negative system (NOT the PV array negative). I chose to leave mine floating and have no chassis ground connection.

Edit: I just noticed you mounted the MPPT charger in your water cabinet. It’s probably a good idea to run a chassis safety ground given that location and the potential for water leakage.

If the controller case is metal, grounding it may help reduce the often reported RFI from many of these units. Finding a way to do that ground connection effectively is another matter.
