Well instead of Tioga Pass being open,as I had thought and didn't research further.Since we drove all that way from Dorrington we went into the valley. The falls are spectacular. The snow has melted early this year so if you want to see some great "water falling over rocks"this would be a nice time to go.Not many people yet, another plus.
I guess the pass will be open in a couple weeks. I was really hoping that it was open last Friday as we had planned to make the 300 mile loop from our cabin in Dorrington Over Tioga than back Ebbetts pass.
Next time I'll just do Sonora and Ebbetts.
Made lemonade out of some lemons.

Beautiful place. Thanks for the pics. Planning on going west agin next year and thats one of our stops.

Great photos. Thanks for the report. I have fond memories of a week-long hiking trip into the back country of Yosemite with my son in 2005. I would like to get back there again- such a beautiful place.
