RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Jacks on 4 Wheel Camper

Your seller was correct, the floor should be supported when off the truck. Probably the cheapest route: http://www.jaysnest.net/x-braces.htm I put mine on a cheap motorcycle trailer.

Captain, Your pictures of the lock made me curious so I took a look at my 2012 Hawk. My dead bolt has the full 1" throw and the interior frame has been notched. Also it appears my door frame lip is on the inside facing the door while while yours is on the outside? As far as interior...

Elective surgery, something called Viiking disease or Dupuytren's Contracture. Common in people of Nordic heritage. Couldn't put a glove on or put my hand in a pocket. I guess 40% of Norwegian males get it. I really miss my right hand! Bill and I will have to compare notes on PT.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Which truck to buy for Four Wheel Hawk Camper

If you really can't bear having a 3/4 there are better choices in the half ton market. Ram has the worst payload ratings of the big three. GM has a 2100 pound payload version: http://www.chevrolet.com/silverado-1500-pickup-truck/specs/capabilities.config%3Ddouble_cab_standard_box.html Ford also...

Looks like the Ram only has a payload of 1,200 to 1,600 pounds depending upon the model. My Hawk was 1350 dry and empty with the jacks removed. I'd listen very closely to what the manufacturer says: "Ram (Chrysler) suggest that the 1500 series are not built for truck campers."

No thingies or crankies for me......yet. Am I the only one who uses his head? Squat, place head under crossbar and dead lift. Just don't wear a ball cap with the button on top though. Disclaimer: My roof is a clean slate.

The Petstep folds in half to about 36' x 17" so it looks like it might just fit into the bottom of your porch? I kept mine on the floor of my Hawk. It fit nicely between the couch and the cabinets. They have a textured, rubber like surface for paw traction so ice chests and whatnot placed on...

I wouldn't worry about it. That is how FWC installed my new 1983 Grandby into my 1983 Chevy pickup back in the day. Over twenty years of off road use and no problems what so ever. Never once even loosened. I would suggest a rubber bed mat, elevator bolts (4), fender washers and locking nuts...

x2 I went with the fluorescent as a compromise between incandescent and LED. I didn't like the price or harsh blue light of the FWC LED and the power use of the incandescent. I wonder where the fluorescent falls as far as power usage? I thought it was a lot less than incandescent?
